EPS cornices resemble wooden cornices that are usually cut 8 feet in length and are installed as easily as cornices made of wood. Expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam cornices can be painted with a non-oil based paint or coated with a hard coat application. Higher density foam is typically used because the finish has a smoother appearance and is much more rigid. Michigan Foam Products can also make specialty cornices if you have a need for architectural replacements for old “period architecture cornices” if you are updating an older home. Light weight, moisture resistant, and with good resilience.

EIFS is a type of exterior wall cladding system. While Michigan Foam Products does not sell entire assembled EIFS panels, we do fabricate the expanded polystyrene (EPS) sheeted foam for its inner panels. Any density of EPS between 1 pound and three pound is possible depending on the R-Value necessary for your application.
EIFS consist of an EPS insulation board attached either with adhesives or with standard mechanical fasteners, to the layers below it, usually plywood or OSB, and finished off with a textured protective finish coat. EIFS units usually are non-load bearing.

Exterior EPS sheathing can be used for above ground or below ground insulation to increase R-Factor in walls, or 2 to 3 inch thickness of one pound density foam below ground to comply with new codes of 2015 that add the sheathing to be adheared to the outside of the exterior concrete wall all the way down to the footing itself of the home’s foundaton to give insualtion factor from the 55 degree ground. When energy savings is taken into consideration, sheathing the foundation makes perfect sense.

Density of foam can also be produced for your precise need.
Corner pads are a very low cost, efficient way to protect your items by applying the pads just to the corners themselves. This is best when you don’t need to cover the entire item being shipped. The best part is you still have a rigid solution without the expense. Using EPS just for the corners saves on cost and overall shipping weight of your package while keeping your item centered and away from the edge of the package itself.
Dunnage is a shipping material, in our case, EPS foam, that is added to a box or container as the primary support of the items being shipped. Dunnage can be cardboard, foam, or plastic.
